Analysis of Non-uniform Local Strain in Corroded Reinforcing Bar in Concrete using Digital Image Correlation

Change in the mechanism of post corrosion bond behavior was investigated a previous experimental study by analyzing deformations concrete using digital image correlation (DIC). Using their DIC data, this focuses on local strain non-uniformity reinforcing bar during uniaxial tensile test due to effect rib height reduction and layer. The results show that, below tip is higher than that flat part between ribs, compressive stress resulting from mechanical interaction at tip. Furthermore, less pronounced highly corroded because transferred gentler slope. In bar, appearance delayed since accumulated product surface delays transfer bar.
